In this work, Jesus meets Mary, his mother, on the way to crucifixion. With a lost and meditative gaze, the Son of God clasps his Mother’s hand, kneeling, covered by a bright blue mantle.  However, Mary does not seem to feel the same pain as her son; on the contrary: while her body is turned toward her son, straining to touch him for one last time, her gaze is turned to an unknown spot, as if toward from a camera.
