José Molina - Trump - 2019 In the work Trump, realized in retouchè, Josè Molina portrays the face of the American president Donald Trump ironically, dressing him with armor and shield but always using the theme of the game as a line of conjunction. The president is represented with a body made of Lego Bricks on a white background along with American stamps inserted by the artist and, in particular, in the lower left, is the cat Garfield, a famous character of the smokes and cartoons. Josè Molina, in this series of works entitled A Hero Never Dies, uses playful and lively tones of color, without however sacrificing his visual figurative language. The theme of the game is used by the artist, together with the masterpieces of Western art and the characters of our time, to propose an art accessible to all. As in the case of the series dedicated to Wonder Mona Lisa, the artist’s intent is not the exaltation of the American myth but the recovery of our culture through a more accessible langu
