LV-4246 Hand Turned Apple Salt & Pepper Shaker, Secret Compartment from Redheart

This is a fun apple shaped container made out of Redheart (Erythroxylon mexicanum).  Also known as Brazilian Satinwood, the bright yellow, non-fading color of Yellowheart is one of the brightest.  The wood has a shimmering sheen and polished up silky smooth.  Redheart is one fun timber. I have never seen any other wood with such bright, saturate red color. The deep red, however, tend to lighten with direct exposure to sunlight. I have a UV block coating on my Redheart items to retain their color. Avoid direct sunlight will also help.  This wood also has pretty darker veins running through. Looks great as a red apple shaker.
