It is heavy enough to chop and baton firewood and build shelters yet still having a blade shape to use for skinning game and detailed bushcrafting, firesticks and notching. The classic upswept blade is 6 5/8" long x 1 11/16" deep x  3/16" thick. The blade finish has a pronounced aged gray appearance.  Overall length is 12"The handle is in my Gunstock tiger maple with heavy duty fasteners and lanyard hole. The design of the blade resembles a bolo knife shape being wider at the end and tapering back towards the handle. This shape adds considerably to it's cutting and chopping ability, drawing in the material  and allowing for a much faster cut. I hand forged these, as always in my Vermont blacksmith shop from 5160 high carbon steel
