Description: A beautiful very fine banknote from Egypt. This is the June first, 1951 five pounds. The banknote, which was issued buy the National Bank of Egypt, is green, blue, and orange on the front. It has the image of King Farouk the first in a circular frame in the right right corner. It also shows the mosque of Mohammad Ali in the Cairo Citadel in the left bottom corner of the front. The note is written in Arabic on the front with the serial number being in both Arabic and English. The back of the note is green in color and depicts the colossus of the Nile statue from the the Vatican Museum in Rome, Italy. The back is in English and shows the name of the bank as well as the denomination. This particular note has the seriall number 074531 and is series AB/57. It is signed in Arabis by Ahmed Zaki Saad who was the Governer of the National Bank of Egypr at the time. The note has a watermark depictin a Lotus Flower.
