Description: A nicely toned extremely fine or better 1817 PTS PJ Bolivian silver coin. This is the Ferdinand VII 8 Reales depicting the bust of King Ferdinand the seventh of Spain on the obverse. The obverse of this large, silver dollar size coin, has the legend "FERDIN.VII.DEI.GRATIA" surrounding the king's bust and the date 1817 below it. The reverse depicts the crowned arms of Spain between pillars with the legend "HESPAN.ET IND.REX" followed by the mint mark as a monogrammed "PTS.8 R. P.J." all surrounding the arms. These coins were used extensively in the US before the silver dollars were circulated. The coin is nicely toned and shows all the details very well. This is a nice coin that would make a great addition to your collection.
