1916 Egypt One Pound Banknote National Bank of Egypt Pick 12a Frederick Rowlatt Signature PMG 25 Very Fine
Description: A nice very fine banknote from Egypt. This is the 12th July 1916 one pound currency note. The banknote, which was issued by the "National Bank of Egypt" and printed by Bradbury, Wilkinson & Co. Ltd., New Malden Surrey, England, has a blue design on pink and green underprint on the front. It shows the gate of Khunsu in the temple of Karnak with palm trees to the left of the front. The back of the note is blue on pink with a guilloche pattern. The front is in both English and Arabic and shows the bank's name, the serial number, and the denomination, while the back is in Arabic and shows the name of the bank and denomination. The note is signed by Frederick Rowlatt and displays his signature on the front. The note has the denomination spelled out in the center of the front and in Roman numerals to the left of the back. This particular note has the serial number 028,951 displayed two times on the front and is series R/43. The banknote has no watermark. It is graded as 25 V
