Description: A beautiful very fine or much better banknote issued by The Commercial Bank of Scotland Limited. This is the 2nd September 1937 One Pound currency note. The banknote is blue on orange and yellow on the front. The front of the note displays an allegorical scene with people in various activities, a horse, and an anchor, in the center near the top. The bottom center of the front has the image of John Pitcairn within an oval. The back is blue with the denomination in numerals flanking the image of the bank's building in the center. The note has two signatures, the date, and the serial number on the front. This particular note has the serial number B/24 023643 printed twice on the front in light blue.
