Description: A beautiful and rather uncommon very fine or better banknote from France. This is the 9-1-1947 Five Hundred francs or Cinq Cents Francs currency note. The banknote is purple and multicolored on both sides. It shows Chateaubriand with a musical instrument in the center of the front. The back has the same coloring as the front and shows Allegorical women sitting and reclining in the center with the denomination top left and top right and the name of the bank top center. This is a relatively scarce banknote with a very interesting and modernistic design first issued at the end of World War II. The front has three signatures. The note has a watermark showing a woman's head. Please carefully review the scans presented as they are part and parcel of our description.Date: 9-1-1947 or January 9, 1
