Description: A beautiful extremely fine banknote from Scotland. This is the 1stn September 1960 one pound sterling note issued by The Royal Bank of Scotland. The note which is clean and retains quite a bit of its original crispiness is dark blue on yellow and brown underprint on the front. The front of the note shows a woman in each bottom corner one holding up a cornucopia and one wearing a helmet and holding a spear. The front shows the signature of the General Manger, has the serial number and the denomination. The back is black or dark blue on white and depicts bank buildings in Glasgow and Edinburgh. The image of the Glasgow bank has the name of the engraver W. H. Egan upside down in small letters within the foreground of the image. This particular note has the serial number BA 510643, which is shown in black twice along the top edge. The banknote has no watermark that we could find.
