Description: A beautiful crisp uncirculated banknote from Egypt. This is the Cairo 3 August 1960 fifty piastres banknote issued by the National Bank of Egypt. The banknote is brown on multi-colored underprint and is written in Arabic on the front. The front shows the mask of King Tutankhamun's mummy to the right. The back of the note has the same color scheme as the front, is written in English and shows the temple of Philae on the edge of the Nile with a felucca on the water and two rams on the bottom to the left and right. The front has one signature, the serial number and date. This particular note has the serial number 089388 and is from the series Zal Seen/33, which are displayed twice in black on the front and not on the back. The note has a watermark depicting the head of the Sphinx of Giza. It is signed by Abdul Hakim El-Refay the governor of the National Bank of Egypt at the time.
