1971 Provincial Bank of Ireland Limited One Pound Banknote Pick No. 247a UNC

Description: A beautiful crisp uncirculated banknote from Northern Ireland. This is the 1971 one pound banknote issued by the Provincial Bank of Ireland Limited on 1st January 1971. The note is green on multicolored underprint with the image of a shirt haired young Irish boy to the right of the front and the Allied Irish Banks logo in the top left corner. The back has the same color scheme as the front and shows the image of an oared fighting ship with sails. The front of the note shows the denomination, one signature, the date, and the serial number. The back only shows the denomination. This particular note has the serial number PN138014 displayed twice in black on the front. The banknote has a watermark which displays the Allied Irish Banks logo. The note also has a raised vertical line in the paper left of the young boy's image, which we believe is original to the making of the note and not an artifact of circulation (we believe the note was never circulated).
