1971 Royal Copenhagen Large Annual Mug Sterling Silver Medallion Anton Michelsen

Description: This is a beautiful large cylindrical mug with an applied handle. The mug which is dated 1971 is from the Annual Mugs series issued in the period 1967-2014 by the Royal Copenhagen pottery of Denmark. This pottery mug has a flat round base with a central button made of Sterling Silver. The button, which would benefit from a good polish, is marked "925 S DENMARK" in two lines and has the letters "AM" with a crown above them all within a triangle with curved sides (mark of Anton Michelsen of Copenhagen). The modernistic design on the mug shows blue and brown curved shapes having gray highlights on a bluish-gray background throughout the exterior of the mug. The interior is mostly bluish-gray in color with a brown colored band at the top which also covers the edge of the mug. A very modernistic design! The date 1971 is on the side within the design (see the first photo). The mug has the mark for Royal Copenhagen pottery and additional markings on the base with which we are not
