1990 Hand Carved Wood Polychrome Painted Folk Art Pig Walter & June Gottshall
Description: A hand carved wood and polychrome painted American Folk-Art Pig. The carving shows a pig sitting on his hind legs with his fore legs fully extended. The pig his pink colored mouth open with his ears perked up. The pig also has two plastic eyes with black central pupils and surrounded brown coloring within the eye. The piece, which was produced by Walter and June Gottshall represents a modern folk art piece. The body of the pig is colored in off-white coloring flanked by black bands with the pig's head being black as well as its behind. Its hind legs are black while the fore legs are off-white in color with black hoofs. The pig has a metal tail in the fore of a cork screw. The piece is signed on the bottom "WJG 90". The details show eyes with pupils, a mouth in pink, hoofs in black, and perked ears. A very nice piece of folk art made by a famous couple of folk artists from Southeastern Pennsylvania.
