Description: A nice slip decorated folk art redware pitcher by Lester Breininger. This bulbous pitcher has slip decoration throughout. One side depicts a bird standing between two green flowers, while the other side depicts large yellow colored tulip with green and black highlights, The pitcher is a glazed brown colored background with dark brown and green sponged splotches surrounding the slip decoration. The pitcher has a round flat base with curved rising sides with a neck supporting a flared top. The top has two raised lines in decoration below a plain rim having a pinched spout. The pitcher has an applied handle decorated with raised lines and green and dark sponged splotches again. The pitcher is marked on the bottom as follows: "Breininger/ Pottery/ Robesonia, PA /August 24, 1996/ Demo piece-27th/Porch Show" written inn cursive calligraphy.
