1997 Glazed Redware Sgraffito Decorated Bottle or Flask Distelfink and Tulips Zieber and Muckey Breininger Pottery
Description: An beautiful dark, Moravian Style, sgraffito decorated redware flask or bottle made by the Breininger Pottery. The flask has a rounded base with straight rising flat sides in an almost rectangular profile. The bottle, which is dark brown in the Moravian Style coloring, is decorated on the front with sgraffito design depicting a distelfink and tulip in a traditional Pennsylvania Dutch imagery. The design also has green and white slip highlights all over. The bottle has a short neck with a small spout having a rolled edge or rim. A great looking piece of pottery made in the studio of Lester Breininger a master potter with Pennsylvania Dutch heritage. It is glazed inside and out with the base being unglazed and signed and dated by the artists. A great piece to add to your collection of Breininger pottery.
