Antique Cast Iron Doorstop Sitting Gray and White Persian Cat By Hubley No. 802
Description: A very nice antique cast iron doorstop. The doorstop is cast in the form of a sitting Persian cat. The cat is sitting on his hind legs with his tail laying towards his front legs. The cat is looking sideways and has wide eyes with black pupils. The cat's body shows details of its fur and is painted in an off-white color (could be white and got soiled) with gray highlights. The cat's ears are colored in pink as does his nose (only a little it of color is left on the nose). The doorstop is made of two pieces joined together with two long screws the heads of which are covered with the external paint. The casting and the painting are very well done and show great details of the cat's fur, paws, eyes, and mouth. The piece is marked on the inside on both halves with the word "HUBLEY" and has the number 802.
