Antique Lidded Pewter Footed Desk Organizer Box Multiple Compartments W/ Inkwell
Description: An antique pewter low profile desk organizer box. The desk organizer has two hinged lids creating two lidded halves, one consisting of a single compartment while the second half has 3 small compartments. One of these compartments accommodates a squared ink bottle and is fitted with a holed plate making it an inkwell. a second compartment has what looks like a sander to dry the ink. The compartment in the middle is free. The opposite large compartment was possibly used to store quills. The common hinge for the two lids is in the middle of the top. The organizer has four pewter round feet attached to the bottom corners of the piece. The piece has acquired a nice light warm gray age patina and looks great.
