Description: Beautiful antique deep redware pie plate with round flat base and rounded sides ending in a plain rim. The plate is brown in color and is manganese glazed as evidenced by the black or dark brown speckles throughout. The bowl is glazed on the inside but not on the outside. The glaze is brown with some darker tones near the edge. The coloring has dark brown or black speckles distributed throughout indicative of manganese glazing. The back or bottom of the plater is dark black in color indicative of extensive use of the plate over the years. A beautiful plate with great looking coloring making this piece a great addition to your antique redware collection.
