Antique Mottled Gray Agateware Graniteware Small Berry Bucket with Wire Handle
Description: A nice antique small agateware or graniteware berry bucket or pail. This unlidded primitive bucket has a round flat base with straight rising sides having a rolled rim. The bucket has two side metal loops, rivetted to the sides near the top, used to hang a wire handle having a semicircular shape. The piece has a nice mottled gray colored enamel throughout the exterior and interior. The mottling is a darker gray when compared to the general color of the background. This beautiful American agateware berry pail has a beautiful design, color, and shape. The bottom of the piece is also enameled in the same coloring as the entire exterior and interior of the pot. Please carefully review the photos presented as they are part and parcel of our description. Date: Uncertain, but most likely mid to late 1800 (mid to late 19th century). Origin: Was acquired at an estate auction in Southeastern Pennsylvania. Size: The pail measure ~3 5/8" diameter at the base and is ~2 5/8" high
