Antique Painted Stoneware Pear Form Still Coin Bank Horizontal Coin Slot
Description: An antique painted stoneware still coin bank. The bank is shaped in the form of a pear and is painted in light greenish yellow and red colors. The surface of the bank is smooth to mimic the surface of a pear. The bank has a pear shape with a flattened bottom, having a flattened center on which it can stand. It does have a slanted horizontal coin slot in the center of the side and remnants of a stem in the center of the top of the pear (it seems that the stem, which was probably long, was broken over time). Red and Greenish yellow in color the bank has a few spots where the color is scratched off. The piece also has a few stains and several spots where the surface is uneven and shows crevasses that are original to the making as you would expect from an antique primitive piece of pottery. Examination of the surface reveal the presence of a few minor surface chips to the color. Other than that, the bank is in very good condition with some scratches, minor loss of color, a bro
