Antique Pewter 9 1/4" Shallow Plate w/ Plain Rim William Hogg Newcastle England

Description: An antique pewter plate from the United Kingdom. This plate has a flat and undecorated ~1 1/4" wide rim and a shallow center decorated with an incised line near where the rim starts. It was made by William Hogg of Newcastle on Tyne, England. The pewter plate is ~9 1/4" in diameter and ~3/4" in height. The rim of the plate has a rolled edge which can be seen on the back. The plate has a fairly shallow center with a decorative incised line along its periphery. The plate is marked on the underside with a goose or swan within an archway, the word Newcastle below it, the letters P, C, and D with what looks like anchors above them, touch marks from left to right the first should show a goose and the second should show the letter W, but these two are mostly gone (we know that because we know the mark) the third shows the letter H and the last mark shows a rose.
