Antique Primitive Sausage Stuffer Tin Body and Wooden Plunger
Description: A very interesting and rather unusual primitive kitchen implement. This is a primitive sausage stuffer. The stuffer consists of a tin syringe shaped exterior and a shaped hard wood plunger, which fits well into the syringe. The plunger has a round knob shaped handle with a neck that progresses to the shaped body. The syringe has a long tip presumably where a sausage casing would fit. The ground seasoned meat would be filled into the syringe and then the plunger would stuff the casing. Just a great antique primitive piece to add to your collection. Please carefully review the photos as they are part and parcel of our description. Date: Uncertain but most likely late 1800's or early 1900's, but could be earlier. Origin: Purchased at an estate sale in Southeastern Pennsylvania where it was most probably made.
