Old Primitive Handmade Wood Swing Lid Box 2 Compartments PA Dutch Decoration

Description: Offered here is a handmade hand carved wooden box. The box is made of a hardwood and has a swing lid. The box itself appears to be made from a single block of hard wood that has been chiseled out to create two compartments and an extension at one end where the swing lid is attached. You can see the chisel marks very well on the inside of the compartments, on the exterior especially at the extension, and all along the edges of the box. The box has a flat lid with an extension to match the extension of the body of the box. That extension is attached the box's extension with an iron nail or rod and a washer under it. The attachment allows the lid to swing open and close. There is also a neil to the side of the extension near the top which is obviously original since it has remnants of the brown finish used all over the wood.
