Unusual Antique Kitchen Cutting Tool Primitive Pie or Pastry Crimper Converted Clock Gear Wheel with Stirrup and Wrought Iron Handle

Description: An antique unusual kitchen tool. This is a primitive pie crimper and pastry edger. The wheel of the tool is made from a reworked clock gear. The wheel is attached to wrought iron stirrup and handle. A very interesting and unusual piece of Americana most likely made as curiosity and not for actual use, but who knows since it may be an early form of recycling or reuse. The piece itself has developed a nice and warm age patina. Please carefully review photos as they are part and parcel of our description. Date: Uncertain but most likely mid to late-1800's. Origin: Purchased at an estate auction in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. Size: The tool is ~6 3/8" long from end to end and the crimping wheel is ~2" in diameter.
