Cahoon for the Texas Centennial celebrations.  The Texas Centennial celebrations officially begin in 1936 but merchandise and souvenirs commemorating 100 years of Texas Independence begin to appear a year to two in advance due to the great public interest in the event.  This map is elaborately illustrated with colorful icons showing sites of historical interest, important routes and trails, native flora and fauna and other points of interest with portraits of nine important figures in Texas history forming a border.   Guy F. Cahoon’s name is signed in print near the lower right corner and the map is also printed “Conceived by Charles Pruett”.  The lower margin indicates “Lithographed by Utter & Evans, Inc. Texas” and “Produced, Published and Copyrighted By C.M. Bur
