Pictured are the immense glaciers filling the valley below Mount Everest and Everest Base Camp. At an altitude where oxygen levels are around half that of sea level, the air is thin, and the landscape feels otherworldly. Every few minutes, the deep, echoing cracks of shifting ice and earth remind visitors of nature’s raw, relentless power.
