In November 2006, our family journeyed to Florence, Italy, eager to visit our oldest daughter during her semester abroad. The city, with its rich history and captivating architecture, was a photographer's dream. As we wandered the streets, I found myself trailing behind, captivated by an alleyway. The road seemed to pull me in.The depth and perspective of the shot felt like an invitation, drawing the viewer deeper into the heart of Florence. However, in my moment of immersion, I lost track of time and, consequently, my family. In an era before the convenience of mobile phones being universally accessible, it took us several hours to reunite. This image now holds a dual significance for me: a testament to the allure of Florence's streets and a reminder of the adventures that can unfold when you take a wrong turn.
