1910’s head wrap

the softest, pale blue silk - ruched and ruffled front - decorated with charming cabbage roses - wraps around the head and fastens on the sides with loops and buttons antique 1910's Mel's notes: A curious and lovely piece, I've only ever found one other head-wrap with this type of split-back construction. I'm not sure of its exact provenance, but it strikes me as French, maybe Austrian. The sweet, naive style is certainly reminiscent of headwraps and turbans made by Paul Poiret/Atelier Martine. It's beautifully constructed and finished.
