Antique Anatolian Kurdish Runner - 3'2 x 11'6
This Kurdish runner was handwoven during the late 19th century in Eastern Anatolia. This unique piece features a central field of disproportionate octagonal medallions with strips of random patterning running along the length of the rug. The primary colors displayed are black, copper, ivory, light blue, and pink/purple. What makes this piece truly special is the unmistakable human touch. Within its wonkiness, asymmetry, and seeming randomness an incredible organic movement is created. A real piece of work. Wear is consistent with age. The pile is low, with a sturdy handle.
