This Kurdish runner was woven in Kurdistan during the 19th century It features a column of interconnected diamonds of various sizes on the central axis flanked by flowering shrubs on a lively red ground. Encapsulated by three borders including a fiery orange and brown inner border, a deep blue outer border, and a bright ivory central border which lends the perfect frame. Dramatic abrash along with an eclectic color palette and free-spirited drawing give this rug palpable movement. In good condition, with wear concentrated in the central area (pictured), where the pile has worn down but the foundation is still intact. Edges have been reinforced for longevity.   Size: 3'2" x 10'6" [97cm x 320cm] Age: 19th Century Origin: Kurdistan Type of Rug: Kurdish Material: Wool on a cotton foundation Pile Height: Low Condition: Very good, original selvedge with some signs of moth damage   BK2359   Check out our Kurdish collections!
