Vintage Heriz - 6’8 x 9'6

This Heriz rug was handwoven during the late 20th century. It features the classic Heriz design of a graphic geometric central medallion. The navy medallion is flanked by two lovely teardrop medallions on a terracotta field and surrounded by four ivory cornices. The cornices flow into one other on the top and bottom giving the field an elegant almond shape. Appealing touches of turquoise, coral, and caramel add interest. The main border is composed of a reciprocating palmette on a deep navy ground which perfectly frames the composition. In very good condition for its age. Medium pile with a dense, sturdy handle.
