Frozen in Time - Love Token
It is freezing here tonight, and we have ice and snow outside, hence the title. I think it goes with the blues of this love token. The heart and hand are made from antique French papers. The heart is from a mid 1800s French document. The decorative cuff is from stationery from the Grand Hotel Lion d’Argent in Charleviile, France, dated 1921. The mottled background is original to this frame. The tiny ring is a band of water colored paper. The silver tone frame is worn, showing its age and use of years gone by. A delicate engraved garland of roses surround the frame. The original velvet is on the back, faded but you can see the remains of the beautiful aqua blues. This piece measures about 4 1/2” x 3”. I always hand cut my hearts and hands with big utility scissors. No templates or die cuts are ever used. The last photo shows more love tokens listed separately.
