Opalized Ammonite Crystal Slice Pair ~These Ammonite fossil specimens have been sliced directly in half and have a highly polished front and a raw back. The raw backside often has an opalized area with a unique rainbow sheen. These run in a wide range of golden color hues and intricate designs. Each one is natural and will have its own individual traits. We offer these in three sizes in both a single slice, or a matching pair of slices.Each piece has been handpicked and examined for quality. The photography used is a representation of our collection, the unique specimen you receive will be similar to the stones pictured and will have its own individual traits.The Ammonite is a shelled nautilous that was part of a now extinct group of invertebrate marine animals. It is a beautiful example of the Fibonacci spiral exhibiting itself in nature, as in the classic nautilus shell. They sometimes grow with a beautiful opalized sheen around the outside of the shell.
