Original German WWII MP43 Sturmgewehr STG 44 Partial Demilled Receiver Sections
Original Item: Only One Available. These are three German WWII MP 43 / 44 de-milled receiver sections, acquired over the years by IMA as extra parts, which we have chosen to sell as a set. Called the Sturmgewehr (Storm / Assault Rifle) 44, it was considered by many to be the original pattern for the modern assault rifle. The MP44 was developed to give German troops fighting in Russia a means of delivering large volumes of fire at the seemingly endless supply of Soviet troops. The first piece is from the muzzle end of the receiver, measuring about 2 1/4" long. It is marked with Waffenamt proofs on the bottom, as well as maker code cos, for Merz-Werke Gebr. Merz, in Frankfurt am Main, Rheinland. This maker manufactured many small arms components during the war. The second piece is a partial magazine well section, measuring about 3 3/4" long.
