Original Item: Only One Available. These are three German WWII MP 43 / 44 de-milled receiver sections, acquired over the years by IMA as extra parts, which we have chosen to sell as a set. Called the Sturmgewehr (Storm / Assault Rifle) 44, it was considered by many to be the original pattern for the modern assault rifle. The MP44 was developed to give German troops fighting in Russia a means of delivering large volumes of fire at the seemingly endless supply of Soviet troops. The first piece is from the muzzle end of the receiver, measuring about 2 5/16" long. It is marked with Waffenamt proofs on the bottom, as well as maker code bnz, for Steyr-Daimler-Puch AG, Werk Steyr, the legendary Austrian arms company. This famous maker manufactured all manner of Small Arms during the war. The second piece is a partial magazine well section, measuring about 3 1/2" long.
