Original U.S. Civil War M1840 Light Artillery Officer Saber with Scabbard - Dated 1862
Original Item: One Only. This is a really nice untouched example straight out of the family home where it was displayed for almost 150 years. The blade is dated 1862 very faintly on the ricasso below U.S. and an illegible makers mark. The sword has a 32" curved blade, and measures 37 1/2" overall. Brass "D" guard enclosing brass wire bound leather hand grip. Complete with curved all steel nickel-plated scabbard with two hanging rings. Scabbard is in excellent condition, with no dents, and just a bit of damage to the plating. This sword shows little use and just a bit of light staining on the blade. This is absolutely genuine U.S. Civil War issue in in really nice condition, complete and ready to display.
