Totally II Vs, Erik Hanson, Monday, 4:00-5:30

This class will meet weekly on Mondays running April 7th to June 9th. (This class does not participate in performances.)  Totally II V’s is a yearlong offering to develop proficiency improvising in all keys. Three ten-week studies on major, minor, and mixing tonalities. Sooner or later, you have to learn all 12 keys. Whether improvising in the overall tonality or making melodies from chords of the moment, command is required in each key. Using II-V-I studies to advance 12 key fluency also provides foundational skills to improvise comfortably on a majority of the harmonies found in songs. The only way to gain this fluency is to exercise it. Join us and level up your comfort and skills. At the conclusion of this course, students can expect to have leveled-up their 12 key fluency and ability to instantly recognize and improvise over each key’s II Vs.Homework:  Recommended homework and practice schedule will vary from week to week.
