The first year of issue for Lincoln cents, this particular coin was minted after the first week of production. Chief engraver Charles Barber instructed the VDB initials be removed from the reverse design of the coin. All Lincoln cents minted after the first week of August are of this design making them more plentiful than those with the VDB initials on the reverse. This is a very nicely detailed example of this issue with very few marks. Its only grade issue is that its luster is somewhat muted.A grade of Choice indicates that the coin is nice for the issue, has no wear, and a scattering of minor imperfections or bag marks.
