c. 1860s Hand Carved & Painted Venetian Polychrome Blackamoor Gondolier Torchier

A beautiful unrestored  c. 1860s hand carved with Venetian polychrome blackamoor gondolier torchiere with its original paint. The figure is standing on the end of a gondola holding a oar in one hand and a candle pan in  the other.  The entire figure and base is hand carved and entirely hand painted.  The base is a linen draped hand painted column giving it some height.  The candle pan, paddle, body of the statue, and linen draped column come off into four separate pieces.     Approx.
