METAD is a third-generation family-owned business with a rich history that began after World War II when the Ethiopian Emperor awarded Muluemebet Emiry, the first African female pilot, with land in the Guji and Sidama zones that have become the Hambela Coffee Estate. Today METAD has a workforce that is seventy percent women, has strengthened the local community by sponsoring educational facilities for more than four hundred children, and provides necessary healthcare for their employees.
