1980s Shou Puer Mini-Tuo

1980s Shou Puer Mini-Tuo   Found at a friend's stall at the recent 2024 Taipei Tea Expo, we have been looking for something like this for years. A clean, rich, well aged and affordable Shou Puer that feels as good as it tastes. With smooth notes of fresh, loamy earth and leather, these mini-tuos radiate a wonderful warm body feel and sweet aftertaste. This tea is a perfect cold weather brew. Each mini-tuo is about 5g of tea and counts as a 'serving'. No need to break them up. The brewing is easy and forgiving, and as with most kinds of tea such as this, we recommend a 5-10 second throw away wash to start.  Not the usual tea that we put on the site, as is common with these types of teas we can't tell you much about this one. Exact age, location, cultivar or storage history are unknown to us or the seller of the tea and have to be guessed by the brew. That being said, the seller is 'famous' in many circles and we have no reason to be suspicious of the general information about the tea.
