AFRICA ENDEAVOR & AFRICAN ENTERPRISE - Interiors & deck plan brochure
Farrell Lines: A fold-out (18" by 24") brochure from the early 1950s for the AFRICAN ENDEAVOR and AFRICAN ENTERPRISE. These twins with their classic American combo-ship profiles were built for Delta Lines (as DELBRASIL and DELTARGENTINO) just as WW2 started but afterwards ended up with Farrell. A six-panel color portrait shows off the ship's handsome lines. Plans show four decks in detail and with color-coding. A tiled pool high up on Boat Deck just aft of the funnel looks like the perfect spot to hang out during the seventeen-day voyage from New York to Cape Town, South Africa. Black and white photos highlight the mid-century modern interiors - Dining Room, Main Lounge, Smoking Room, Main Entrance Hall, both A and B deck cabins, and the Swimming Pool. These beauties sailed just a decade for Farrell before being laid-up. Good condition with light wear.
