Italian Line Cruises International: A twelve-page brochure dated September 1978 for the MARCONI's inaugural cruises out of New York. This was the last gasp of the fabled Italian Line. The brochure opens to a large portrait of the handsome former Lloyd Triestino liner. Interior photos show two dining room views and several snippets of public room and deck scenes filled with buxom beautifies with an occasional buff escort. Color-coded plans show nine decks. While the MARCONI's cruises in late December 1978 and early 1979 were popular, the U.S. Coast Guard found a noncompliant water purification system onboard and the service was canceled. MARCONI sailed out of New York without passengers, and was laid up until conversion into the COSTA RIVIERA. Excellent condition.
