MARGARET MORAN: 1979 - Original oil painting in ship's wheel

Moran Towing Company - A lovely, original oil-on-board portrait of the MARGARET MORAN. The painting is fitted into a 14" diameter bronze wheel (20" with rungs). It is hard to make out the artist's signature, but it appears to be a last name of "Helbert". Whomever you are, you painted a beautiful portrait! Lots of great detail to enjoy, including the requisite gulls swirling around the skies. The bronze wheel is marked Gloucester Shipbuilding and features seven wooden spokes. There is a hole for an eighth, but it is missing. On back is a wire for hanging. The MARGARET MORAN was launched in 1979 and is still active today. Marine sites show that she currently is in New York Harbor. Excellent condition.
