French Line: A maiden voyage cachet featuring a special NORMANDIE stamp and a cancellation date of June 7, 1935, the day the ship departed New York on her return leg of Voyage #1.  Of special note is that the envelope is addressed to famed NORMANDIE Chief Steward "Monsieur Henry Villar, "Commossaire Principal, French Line NORMANDIE, Pier 88 North River, New York City, U.S.A.:" My guess is that Villar mailed a handful of these cachets to give away to special passengers. The envelope bears a NORMANDIE stamp with a special cancellation, "S/S NORMANDIE, Voyage Inaugural, New York - 7 Juin 35."  Excellent condition.
