They held a few hundred containers in a special hold while the rest of the ship was designed for traditional break-bulk cargo. They also carried twelve passengers in handsome mid-century modern American interiors. An around-the-world voyage on the globe-trotting PRESIDENT LINCOLN would be a relaxing way to spend three months.While American President Lines converted several break bulk cargoliners into container ships in the 1970s, the two Sea Racers were not included. They were turned in to the maritime administration where they sat in lay-up for four decades before being brok
