View Accompanying Genealogical Chart This fine portfolio sheet features two maps, one focused on Denmark and the other on Norway, Sweden and what is now Finland. The sheet was issued hand-coloured for the third American edition of Lavoisne’s Genealogical Historical Chronological and Geographical Atlas. Brightly colored copper-plate maps of Scandinavia surrounded by textual information on geography, history, battles, political divisions, religion, etc. The map of Denmark shows the provinces as they were demarcated in the early 19th century and includes place names and a distance legend. Portions of adjoining countries include A bit of western Sweden and northwestern Germany. A small inset maps depicts the famous Danish island of Bornholm and some small islands adjacent to it.   The map of Norway, Sweden and Vinland (modern Finland) includes place names, rivers, and mountainous regions with hachure.
