An annual ritual in Maine, putting my toes in the lake right after ice-out, that day when all of the winter's ice is finally melted from the water's surface. There's usually still detritus from the fall along the shoreline, leaves and pine needles. These will soon be raked out in preparation for summer. Wool strip hooked on linen foundation, with some yarn as well. Much of the wool is hand dyed by me.
