The 108 cultivar is a sub-cultivar of Dragonwell 43, created in the 1990s, little Wang's grandparents planted a lot of this new cultivar on their land.  While its popularity in the domestic market underperformed expectations, a lot of farmers reverted to the more popular 43, but the Wangs persisted in cultivating the new 108.   These teas are different from Longjing #43 in that there is little green bean or roasted chestnut
